Wonders of Learning FrontiersTM
With Faye Feller, Abby Dress received a grant through the Association of Hispanic Arts from the Rockefeller Philanthropic Advisors and The Philanthropic Collaborative, Inc. (TPC) for "Wonders of Learning Frontiers," a Spanish Harlem weekend program integrating science, technology and arts. Invited to speak at the 59th Annual DPI/NGO Conference at the United Nations Headquarters, they presented their youth project at "Education, Youth & Technology for Sustainable Development" sponsored by UNESCO, the CONGO Committee on Education and Rotary International.
W.O.L.F.TM was developed as an after-school program and features multiple workshops, activities, and discussions to provide alternative approaches to learning. The primary objective of W.O.L.F.TM is to cultivate and empower youth and individuals today so they can become knowledgeable and responsible stewards now.

Abby Dress, APR
Abby Dress, APR, whose career has spanned high-tech, medical devices, health care, the environment and the arts, is an associate professor of communications at LIU Post, where she has directed its public relations degree program. She balances academia with professional work as the founder of Smith & Dress, a marketing communications firm, serving clients including Yellowstone, Precipart, Canon, Estée Lauder, and American Heart Association.
Dress and her husband won a Gold Hermes Award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals and a Silver Communicator's Award for a book they designed and produced, which also was included in the American Advertising and Green Design Annual 25. Her campaigns were recognized nationally with a Clarion Award by the Association of Women in Communication, reprinted in the Graphic Design USA Annual Award issues, honored by the Biomedical Marketing Association and described in the book, "Publicity for Non-profits."
She produced with Emmy-nominated videographer Mary Scott "Wings of Their Own," a documentary about women pilots featuring the Ninety-Nines. It premiered at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, N.Y., and was accepted into the New York International Film and Video Festival for Miami and New York.
Co-authoring "Igniting Steel: Korea's POSCO Lights the Way," Dress also has by-lined articles in the Asian Wall Street Journal, Workboat, Advance for the Laboratory, the Science Teacher and Science Scope.
An accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, Dress judges the Silver Anvil and the Big Apple Awards. A member through the years of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, New York Women in Communications and the Media Ecology Association, she was a board member and founder of her National Association of Woman Business Owners local Chapter.
Frederick Dress
Frederick Dress has pursued communications excellence as a designer for years. Serving as S&D's creative director, Dress is well-versed in both conventional and digital technologies. He counsels clients to adopt new and appropriate strategies and media for communication projects.
Dress began his career first as a graphic designer and then as an art director in a full-service studio in New York that provided advertising, direct mail, point-of-sale and collateral communication work for most pf the major Manhattan-based advertising agencies, such as BBDO and Grey Advertising. He later joined Smith & Dress to head its creative services. Since then his work has been recognized nationally and cited by the New York State Education Department, the Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Citicorp.
As a nominated member of American Institute of Graphic Arts, Dress also has assisted development campaigns for nonprofits. He has served on the community board for the Westbury Friends Academy, the National Down Syndrome Society, East Woods School Capital Campaign and headed the Huntington Arts Council Journal committee.

From Kitty Hawk to Cape Canaveral a few women have found “Wings of Their Own.” Abby Dress (Smith & Dress) and Mary Scott (Make*Believe TV) co-produced this documentary about women pilots with a focus on the Ninety-Nines – the organization founded in 1929 by legendary Amelia Earhart to support and advance the role of women pilots.
With partner Faye Feller, Abby Dress developed an after-school and intersession program that features multiple workshops, activities and discussions to provide alternative approaches to learning.
